Introduction
This article describes potential reasons why a sensitivity label was automatically applied to an email.
Explanation
There are two reasons why this can happen.
It was applied incorrectly
The automatic label incorrectly identified content in the email as sensitive.
It has an attachment with a sensitivity label applied to it.
If an attachment has a sensitivity label applied to it, then the email will inherit that label.
