Navigating the Microsoft 365 Copilot Landing Page

Introduction

Microsoft has updated the Microsoft 365 landing page to integrate Copilot as the central experience. This article explains the new layout, key features, and how to access familiar tools in the updated interface.

Explanation

The Microsoft 365 Copilot landing page—accessible via office.com—now serves as your AI-powered workspace. Once you access the M365 portal, you start in the Chat section of a Copilot-centered interface. You can interact with Copilot by entering text in the “Message Copilot” area.

More information about Copilot can be found at What is Copilot, how do I get it, and where can I learn more about it? and Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Copilot app - Microsoft Support.

The left navigation panel has additional features available to you. Some features may require the licensed version of Copilot.

If you're missing the old “Quick Access” list:

  1. Click the Search icon on the homepage.
  2. Use filters like “Recently used,” “Shared,” or “Favorites” to locate your files.
  3. Alternatively, go directly to OneDrive or launch individual apps from the sidebar.

Chat

This section allows you to interact with Copilot, but it also has some built-in functionality.

More information about the Chat section can be found at Get started with Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat - Microsoft Support.

Agents

Agents enable customized, extensible functionality with Copilot.

You can learn more about Agents at Get started with agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot - Microsoft Support.

Conversations

Conversations is a list of saved conversations that you have had with Copilot.

Pages

This section is where you turn Copilot responses into editable, shareable pages. You create a page by clicking on “Edit in Pages” or the opening book icon after a response is generated by Copilot.

More information about Pages can be found at Get started with Microsoft 365 Copilot Pages - Microsoft Support.

Notebooks

This section is where your notebooks are stored. Notebooks are where you can gather information related to the task at hand. You can then use AI to help you analyze the content and receive focused answers tailored to the task.

More information about Notebooks can be found at Get started with Microsoft 365 Copilot Notebooks - Microsoft Support.

Create

This section is a shortcut to creating an item (i.e., Word document, PowerPoint presentation, Excel workbook, etc.) without having to open the application first.

Apps

This section lists all the apps available to you within Microsoft 365. You can use the ellipsis next to an app to pin the app to the left navigation panel for easier access to high-use applications.

You can also install desktop versions of the applications (if they are available to you) in this section by clicking on “Install apps” in the upper right corner of the screen in this section and following the prompts.
