Understanding Daily Sending Limits within Gmail

Introduction

This article describes the daily sending limits imposed by Google for Gmail individual accounts.

If you have a valid business case for sending that would exceed these limitations, please submit your request at SMTP Mail Relay Allow List (vt.edu).

Alternative bulk mailing methods can be found in the Bulk Email Sending Knowledge Base Article.

Explanation

Google Hard-Cap Limitations

Please see Gmail sending limits in Google Workspace - Google Workspace Admin Help.

Soft Limitations

Google can and does suspend accounts if they are deemed too "spammy" or otherwise suspicious. This can result in a restriction or suspension occurring before those hard-cap limits are reached. Repeated offenses will be escalated, if this happens you may be placed on the blocked senders list. To attempt to remove yourself from this list, submit a ticket to 4Help.
