Installing JMP for Students
Instructions
- Go to the JMP Student Edition web page and click the Get JMP for free! button.
- On the next page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Create a My JMP Account button.
- Enter the email address you want to use for your My JMP account and click Sign In.
This can be ANY valid email address and does not need to be your Virginia Tech email address.
- If you do not already have a My JMP account with the email address you used, you'll need to enter some information and then click Sign Up.
This information is not validated by JMP so it does not need to be genuine if you prefer to be anonymous.
- JMP will send an email with a verification code to the email address you entered. Once you receive the email, enter the code and click Verify.
- Read and accept the Privacy Statement and the Terms of Use, then click Continue.
- Next, enter the course name and number that JMP will be used for as well as the School/University name and click Submit & Authenticate.
- On the next screen, click Start to being the verification process
- Enter Virginia Tech in to the search box and select Virginia Tech from the list.
- Sign in using your Virginia Tech Username (PID) and VT Username (PID) password, followed by 2-factor authentication.
- Once verification is complete, you'll see JMP Student Edition in your cart with a cost of $0.00. Click Checkout to proceed.
- You'll now be asked to provide a shipping address. Enter the requested information and click Next.
While the address needs to be a valid address, it can be any address in the US. The information you provide does not need to be genuine if you prefer to be anonymous.
- Review and accept the JMP Academic License Agreement and click Place Order.
- You'll need to wait 10 - 15 minutes for the order to process, then go to the My JMP Portal and click JMP Student Edition under the Software Downloads heading.
- Follow the installation instructions on the next page to download, install, and activate JMP Student Edition.
