Introduction
This article explains how to check Google Workspace storage for My Drive, shared drives, Gmail, and Photos. It can take up to 24 hours for these metrics to reflect storage addition or reduction.

Checking storage (My Drive, Gmail, Photos)
- Log in to Google Drive. View the total storage number at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left called Storage. This value includes My Drive, Gmail, and Photos.
- Click Storage at the bottom of the navigation to view the details.
- Clicking the Storage used column heading will sort the information by size and let you identify the largest files reflected in this summary.

- Go to https://drive.google.com/settings/storage (will work without Drive enabled) for a summary report.

Checking storage for Gmail when you don't have Drive access
- Go to https://drive.google.com/settings/storage (will work without Drive enabled) for a summary report.
Checking a specific shared drive from within Google Drive
- Log into Google Drive.
- Expand the Shared drives section.
- Select a shared drive.
- Click on the View Details icon
- You will see the storage details in the box on the right.
If your shared drive is read only, you might see some of the error messages presented in this article.
Checking Shared Drives from within MyCAT
This data is not real-time.
- Log into MyCAT. You may be required to use VPN if you are not on campus.
- Scroll down to the Google section.
- Expand the Google section.
- Expand the Shared Drives section.
- You can filter the shared drives based on role.
- The Unknown role is likely from being a member of a Google group that was invited to the shared drive rather than you as an individual.
