Introduction
This article explains how to check Google Workspace storage for My Drive, shared drives, Gmail, and Photos. It can take up to 24 hours for these metrics to reflect storage addition or reduction.
Instructions
Checking Personal Drive (My Drive, Gmail, Photos) from within Google Drive
- Log in to Google Drive.
- Go to Drive storage (https://drive.google.com/settings/storage) for a summary report.
OR
- View the total storage number at the bottom of the navigation. This value includes My Drive, Gmail, and Photos.
OR
- Click Storage to view the details.
- Clicking the Storage used column heading will sort the information by size and let you identify the largest files reflected in this summary.
- Go to Drive storage (https://drive.google.com/settings/storage) for a summary report.

Checking Shared Drives from within MyCAT
- Log into MyCAT. You may be required to use VPN if you are not on campus.
- Scroll down to the Google section.
- Expand the Google section.
- Expand the Shared Drives section.
- You can filter the shared drives based on role.
- The Unknown role is likely from being a member of a Google group that was invited to the shared drive rather than you as an individual.
