Introduction
Kaltura is the cloud-based video management system behind My Media and Media Gallery, which are Canvas LTI tools. Note that:
- Kaltura appears in some places in My Media and Media Gallery and in the company's documentation and user guides.
- Course Gallery is how you access Media Gallery in Canvas.

Instructions
Publishing Videos to Media Gallery
- In Media Gallery, click + Add Media to go to the Add Media page.
- You can:
- Choose media from My Media to add to the Media Gallery by clicking the box next to the video thumbnail or name, then click Publish.
- You can only publish if you've entered a Description on the Edit Video page. If you don't have a description, you'll see the below error. Click Edit to add a description, then add the video again.
- Click Add New to add upload media, record using your webcam or screen share, or link a YouTube video using the same procedure in Adding Videos to My Media.
- Choose media from My Media to add to the Media Gallery by clicking the box next to the video thumbnail or name, then click Publish.
- If you add new media, it will appear in both My Media and the Media Gallery where you added it.
Publishing Videos on the Internet
- In My Media or Media Gallery, click a media thumbnail or title to go to the video.
- Scroll down and click the Share tab. The video's embed code will appear and be highlighted. You can choose the player skin, size, and whether it will resize.
- Copy the embed code and paste it into a web page.
