Introduction
Kaltura is the cloud-based video management system behind My Media and Media Gallery, which are Canvas LTI tools. Note that:
- Kaltura appears in some places in My Media and Media Gallery and in the company's documentation and user guides.
- Course Gallery is how you access Media Gallery in Canvas.

Editing Videos in My Media
My Media includes an online video-editing suite. For information and instructions, see:
Deleting Videos in My Media
- There is no reason to delete a video from Kaltura. Videos in My Media are private, and videos stored in My Media that have not been viewed in 24 months will be deleted if they have never been published to a Canvas course or a channel or collection on video.vt.edu.
- Deleting videos from Kaltura is permanent. No one, neither Kaltura tech support nor Virginia Tech support, can restore a video once it's deleted.
- Videos must be unpublished before you can delete them.
- If the video is published, unpublish it first.
- In My Media, click the trash can to the right of the video title.
- On the popup, click Delete to confirm.
