Introduction
Kaltura is the cloud-based video management system behind My Media and Media Gallery, which are Canvas LTI tools. Note that:
- Kaltura appears in some places in My Media and Media Gallery and in the company's documentation and user guides.
- Course Gallery is how you access Media Gallery in Canvas.

Instructions
Changing Content Display
In My Media or Media Gallery, click one of the three icons to the left of Add New to change the display.
- The icon on the right is table view, showing the title, tags, plays, updated at date, and published locations.
- The icon in the middle is detailed view, showing video thumbnails, title, description, likes, plays, comments, and whether the video is published or private.
- The icon on the left is collapsed view, showing only the video title.
Filtering Content
In My Media or Media Gallery, you can filter by publish status, media type, and whether or not you own the video.
- In Media Gallery click Filters and choose variations of Media Type, Ownership, Captions, and Duration.
- Click More Filters at the bottom to filter for Creation Date, and Last Update Date.
- Clear filters by clicking Clear All in orange at the bottom.
- In My Media click Filters and choose between Media Type, Publish Status, Ownership, Captions, Duration, and Creation Date.
- Click More Filters to filter by Last Update Status.
- Clear filters by clicking Clear All in orange at the bottom.
Searching for Content by Name, Tags, and Captions
- Next to the magnifying glass under My Media or My Gallery, click Search My Media and type in search term(s).
- Kaltura will search the video names, any tags, and the captions for your search terms and automatically return search results.
- For Zoom Meetings recordings, search for meeting name and date (it's a good idea to give each Zoom Meeting a unique name).
- If your search returned too many videos, you can filter and refine your search results.
- After entering in the search field, you can click on Search In... to define where you want it to look.
