Zoom is a versatile video conferencing tool that unifies cloud video conferencing, simple online meetings, group messaging, and a software-defined conference room solution into one easy-to-use platform. You can host and join Zoom video conferences from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Instructions
Before joining a real meeting, follow these instructions to join a Zoom test meeting to verify that your internet connection, audio, and video work.
Joining from the Web Portal
- Log into the Virginia Tech Zoom Web Portal with your Virginia Tech Username (PID) and password.
- If you've forgotten your PID, go to Finding My Forgotten VT Username (PID).
- If you've forgotten your PID password, go to Changing or Resetting My Password.
- Click JOIN A MEETING at the top of the webpage.
- Enter the Meeting ID or Personal Link provided by your host, and click Join. The meeting will begin in the Zoom client.
- If don't have the Zoom client, download and install it. Or, click Start from your browser to join the meeting.
Joining from the Zoom Client
- Open and log into the Zoom client.
- Click Join.
- Enter the Meeting ID or Personal Link provided by your host, and click Join.
- To join a test meeting, go to Zoom's Join Meeting Test.
- If the host has enabled the waiting room, wait for them to allow you into the meeting.
Joining from the Mobile App
- On the mobile app home screen, tap Join.
- Enter a Meeting ID. Or, tap Join with a personal link name and enter that. Check that your name is filled out correctly and tap Join.
- If the host has enabled the waiting room, wait for them to allow you into the meeting.
