1. Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and password. Select SPSS Software and click SPSS 29 Student for MacOS from the list of software available.
2. Accept the license agreement and you will be presented with the download link for SPSS. There will also be a tab labeled Product Key(s) which is where your SPSS License Key is located. Make sure to write this down as it will be needed later in the install process, and continue to download the installer.

   

3. Locate the downloaded SPSS_Statistics_29_student_mac.pkg file on your computer and double-click it.
4. That will bring up the IBM SPSS Statistics Installer. Click Continue on the Introduction window, and Continue on the following screen to proceed.
   NOTE: If you are using a Mac with an Apple Silicon processor, you may be asked to install Rosetta to continue. Click Install to install Rosetta.

   

5. Review and accept the license agreement by clicking Continue and then Agree.

   

   Note: If asked to install IBM SPSS Statistics for Python, click No and click Next.

6. Accept the default install location and click Continue.
7. Click Install to begin the installation.
8. Once the installation has completed, click Close to exit the installer.
9. When you first start SPSS, you will be asked to activate.  Click the Launch License Wizard button to begin activation.

   

10. Ensure that Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product) is selected and click Next.

    

11. On the following window, enter your product code from step 2 and then click Next.

    

12. When SPSS has been licensed successfully you will see the screen below. Click Next and then Finish to complete the licensing process.

    

    Note: The renewal date for the SPSS license is July 1, 2024. SPSS has a grace period of 30 days and will stop working on July 31, 2024.

Windows

1. Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and password. Select SPSS Software and click SPSS 29 Student for Windows 64-bit from the list of software available.
2. Accept the license agreement and you will be presented with the download link for SPSS. There will also be a tab labeled Product Key(s) which is where your SPSS License Key is located. Make sure to write this down as it will be needed later in the install process, and continue to download the installer.

   

3. Once the download is complete, locate the downloaded file on your computer and double-click it to start the installer.

   

4. After the preparation has completed, you'll see SPSS licensed materials. Click Next.

   

5. Read the software license agreement and select I accept the terms in the license agreement. Then click Next.

   

   Note: If asked to install IBM SPSS Statistics - Essentials for Python, click NO and click Next.

6. Accept the default install location and click Next.
7. Click Install to begin the installation.

   

8. Once installation has completed, ensure that Start IBM SPSS Statistics now is checked and click Finish.

   

9. When you first start SPSS, you will be asked to activate. Click Launch License Wizard to begin activation.
