Introduction
Tecplot 360 is available to students in the College of Engineering by request. Engineering students can request access to Tecplot 360 by following the steps at Engineering IT Support's Tecplot 360 page.

Tecplot Windows Install
Minimum System Requirements
- 2 GHz Processor
- 850 MB Disk Space
- 4 GB RAM
- Minimum display resolution of 1600 x 1200 or more suggested
- OpenGL accelerated graphics card
- 64-bit Windows 10, 11
- Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and password. Then, click Tecplot 360ex 2023r2 for Windows from the list of software available.
- After accepting the licensing terms, make note of the Tecplot License Server address, which will be needed to activate Tecplot 360ex, and then click Download to download the installer.
- When the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file to open the installer.
- When the installer starts, click Next on the Welcome to the Tecplot 360 EX 2023 R2 Setup Wizard screen.
- Leave the default selections selected on the Choose Components screen and then click Next.
- Review the license agreement on the following screen, then click I Agree.
- On the Install Options screen, leave the default options selected, as seen below, and click Next.
- Accept the default Destination Folder and click Install to begin installation.
- When the installation completes, click Finish to close the installer.
- On the first run of the Tecplot software, a Licensing window will pop up. Under License Options click Network license server and in the License server name field type the name of the license server from step 2. Ensure that 27100 is in the Port Number field as shown below. Click OK to finish licensing.
- NOTE: This license server is only accessible from on campus IP addresses. If you are off campus you must connect to the Junos VPN in order to use the license server. Instructions for the VPN can be viewed here.
- NOTE: Make sure the username that you are logged into your computer with matches your VT Username (PID). The license server uses this to validate your license.

Tecplot macOS Install
Minimum System Requirements

- OpenGL accelerated graphics card
- 64-bit macOS 10.11, 11, 12
- Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and password. Then, click Tecplot 360ex 2023r2 for macOS from the list of software available.
- After accepting the licensing terms, make note of the Tecplot License Server address, which will be needed to activate Tecplot 360ex, and then click Download to download the installer.
- Double-click the downloaded tecplot360ex2023r2_mac64.dmg installer and then click Agree to the License Agreement Window.
- Drag Tecplot 360 EX 2023 R2 to your Applications folder as shown below.
- Launch Tecplot 360 EX 2023 R2 from your Applications folder. On the first run of the Tecplot software, a Licensing window will pop up. Under License Options click Network license server and in the License server name field type the name of the license server from step 2. Ensure that 27100 is in the Port Number field as shown below. Click OK to finish licensing.
