Adding an RSS feed to Microsoft Teams

Introduction

Microsoft Teams supports RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds. RSS feeds can be incorporated into channels if you are an owner of the Team.

Instructions

Due to the way that Teams Desktop app gets permissions information about connecting to external sites and RSS feeds, it is best to configure the RSS feed using the Web browser version of Teams. If you experience trouble in your browser, ensure that cookies are enabled. Once the RSS feed is established, you can see the feed within either the desktop or web version of Teams.

  1. Log into the web version of Teams.
  2. Open Microsoft Teams and go to the Apps section in the lower-left sidebar.
    1. Search for “RSS” and select the Microsoft RSS app from the results.
    2. Click Add.
    3. Choose the channel where you want the feed to appear.
    4. Click Go.
    5. Click Set Up a Connector and enter:
      • A name for the feed
      • The RSS feed URL
      • The frequency for checking updates
    6. Click Save to activate the feed.

To manage or remove the feed later:

    • Click the three-dot menu next to the channel name.
    • Select Connectors.
    • Under Configured, find your feed and click Manage or Remove.
