Upcoming ServiceNow Upgrade: Powerful New Navigation & Filtering in Platform Analytics


Introduction

As part of our upcoming upgrade to the ServiceNow Zurich in February 2026, we are excited to introduce several improvements to Platform Analytics. These updates focus on providing powerful new search and filtering capabilities, making it easier to navigate your dashboards and discover the specific data insights you need.

Here are the top highlights you can look forward to:

1. Streamlined Discovery for Data Visualizations

  • Quick Filters: Use the new “Filter by: Select” menu at the top left to instantly narrow your view to visualizations that are Bookmarked, Certified, Owned by me, or Shared with me.

  • Dedicated Search: A new search bar allows you to locate data visualizations by name or description.

  • Personalized Views: You now have full control over your list view, with the ability to add, remove, and rearrange columns to prioritize the information most important to you.

2. Upgraded "List" Visualization Experience

The visualization formally known as "List - Simple" has been renamed to List. It now features a layout consistent with other Data Visualizations, making the interface more intuitive. More importantly, it now includes accessible filtering options for each column, giving you more granular control over the data displayed in your lists.

3. Advanced Filtering & Management for Dashboards

Managing your dashboard library has been completely overhauled for maximum efficiency:

  • Smart Filtering: Similar to data visualizations, you can now filter dashboards by status (Bookmarked, Certified, Owned by me, etc.) or Categories.

    To filter by category, simply double-click a category to move it to the "Applied" list and select Apply.

  • Search & Organization: Use the new search bar to find dashboards by name or owner. Similar to Data Visualizations, you now have full control over your list view, with the ability to add, remove, and rearrange columns to prioritize the information most important to you.

  • Excel-like Column Filters: You can now apply granular filters directly to individual columns—such as showing only dashboards where the name "contains" a specific project code or keyword.

What do I need to do? No action is required on your part. These features and fixes will be available automatically once the upgrade to Zurich is complete. If you wish to preview these features, they are already available on the Dev instance at https://vt4helpdev.service-now.com.
