Rhino 8 Installation Instructions

Instructions

Rhino 8 - macOS

  1. Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and password. Select Rhino Software and then click Rhino 8.0 for MacOS.
  2. After accepting the licensing terms, click Product Key(s) to obtain your product key. The product key is necessary for activation, so write down or copy the product key.

  3. Click Download to begin the download. Once the download has completed, double-click the downloaded file to mount the installer.

  4. When the window opens, drag the Rhinoceros icon to the Applications folder.

  5. Upon starting Rhino 8 for the first time, you will be asked to enter an email address, and to review and accept the license agreement and privacy policy. Read through both, then check the box next to I have read and agree to: to accept the terms and click Continue.
    NOTE: If you prefer to remain anonymous, it is recommended to use an alias. For instructions, see Adding, Creating, and Using Email Aliases.

  6. Next, you will be asked to provide a license. Click Enter a license key in the licensing window.

  7. Enter the license key you obtained in step 2 and click Continue.

  8. You will then be asked whether you would like to Float [the] license between computers or Lock [the license] to this computer. This is entirely your choice, but if you choose to Float [the] license between computers you will be required to create a Rhino account.

    If you selected Float license between computers, you'll now be asked for additional information to "validate" the license. This can be skipped by clicking Skip Registration.

Rhino 8 - Windows

  1. Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and password. Select Rhino Software and then click Rhino 8.0 for Windows.
  2. After accepting the licensing terms, click Product Key(s) to obtain your product key. The product key is necessary for activation, so write down or copy the product key.

  3. Click Download to begin the download. Once the download has completed, double-click the downloaded file to run the installer.

  4. When the installer starts, click Install Now to begin installation.
  5. Once installation is complete, click Close to exit the installer.
  6. Upon starting Rhino 8 for the first time, you will be asked to enter an email address, and to review and accept the license agreement and privacy policy. Read through both, then check the box next to I have read and agree to: to accept the terms and click Continue.
