Setting Up an API Key in HokieAI


Introduction

This article walks you through how to create and retrieve an API key in HokieAI so you can connect approved applications and services. These steps focus on account setup and key generation, ensuring you have the necessary credentials for integration.

Instructions

  1. Log in to HokieAI
  2. Select your name in the bottom-left corner of the screen. 
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Under Account, select API Projects
  5. Select Create API Project.
  6. In the setup window:
    • Enter a clear, recognizable project name
    • Select the appropriate access profile to match your code/language
    • Select Create
  7. Once your project appears in the list, locate it and click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the far right of the row. Then select API Keys.
  8. Copy the following values (you will need both for future configuration):
    • Endpoint URL
    • Either the primary or secondary API key
