Introduction

VPN NOTE: This software requires you to either be on the Virginia Tech campus network or connected to the VPN in order to access the license server. Please ensure you are either on the Virginia Tech network or have installed and enabled the VPN by following the instructions at Downloading, Installing and Connecting to Remote Access VPN in Windows prior to installing and using Granta EduPack.
Instructions
- Access Network Software and login using your VT Username (PID) and passphrase.
- Click Granta Software to expand the menu and click Granta EduPack 2025 R2 Download.
- After accepting the licensing terms, make note of the License Server Hostname and License Server Port, which will be used during installation, and then click Download to download the installer.

- When the download is complete, locate the downloaded GrantaEduPack2025R2.exe file on your computer, double-click it to and then click Yes to begin extraction.

- When the installer window opens, review and agree to the licensing terms, then click Continue.
- Leave the default installation directory path and click Next to continue.
- Leave the default applications selected and click Next.

- Click Next to begin the installation.
- When the installation completes, click Next and then Exit to exit the installer.
NOTE: An ANSYS web page may open in the background after clicking Next. This does not need to be completed and can be closed.
- In the Licensing Settings window that opens, click the toggle next to Enabled and then enter the port number and license server hostname from step 3. Now click Save to save the licensing configuration.

- If you see the error message belowwhen opening Granta Edupack, it likely means you are not connected to the Pulse Secure VPN or on a campus network. Instructions for connecting to the VPN can be found in Downloading, Installing and Connecting to Remote Access VPN in Windows.
