When obtaining a Slack license or logging in to the Division of IT's Virginia Tech Slack Workspace, it is important to ensure you are using your Virginia Tech Username (PID). Using a preferred name (alias) will not work, and when attempting to log in you will receive an error message stating: "You are not authorized to access the requested application." 

If an incorrect username is used to obtain a license, submit a request to the Software Service Center via 4Help to get the issue resolved. Be sure to include your PID as well as the alias used to obtain the license in the 4Help ticket.
