Understanding Google's Data Protection

Introduction

This article describes Google's policy and procedures for protecting your data.

Explanation

Cloud services, such as Google Workspace for Education, have moved away from the notion of "cold backups" to "warm redundancy" - multiple copies of data on multiple servers in multiple datacenters. A single server going offline, a single rack, or a single geographical location isn't going to result in loss of data.
