Changing Your Reply Email Address for Exchange Online or GMail


Introduction

This article explains how a user can change their return email address to set where replies to their email messages will arrive. This will only change your email. If you wish to see a change in People Finder, you must go to http://accounts.vt.edu and set your preferred email address there as well.

Instructions

Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online)

  1. Navigate to MyCAT at http://mycat.ccs.vt.edu.
  2. If prompted, log on with your Hokies ID (which is the same as your VT Username) and Hokies ID (Exchange Online) password.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete authentication with your second factor.
  4. Scroll down to the Email section.
  5. Select the address you want from the Exchange ReplyTo dropdown

  6. Click Set.

Gmail (Google Workspace for Education Mail)

  1. Log on to Gmail by following the instructions at Accessing Virginia Tech (VT) Gmail in a Browser.
  2. Follow the instructions at Google's Send emails from a different address or alias page.
