Installing ESRI ArcGIS Pro

ArcGIS Pro 3.3 Instructions

  1. VERY IMPORTANT ArcGIS Online accounts are required to obtain ArcGIS Pro licenses. If you do not have a Virginia Tech ArcGIS Online account, visit the Virginia Tech ArcGIS site and use the “VIRGINIA TECH” login option. Log in to create an account.
  2. Access the Network Software web site and log in using your VT Username (PID) and passphrase. Click ESRI Software and then click ESRI ArcGIS Pro 3.2 for Windows.
  3. Review and accept the license agreement and download the file on the following page to your computer. Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file to start the installation process.
  4. Leave the default destination folder and click Next.
  5. When extraction is complete, ensure that Launch the setup program is checked and click Close.

    If you receive an error about missing .NET Desktop Runtime 8, you'll need to download and install .NET Desktop Runtime 8 from https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/0ff148e7-bbf6-48ed-bdb6-367f4c8ea14f/bd35d787171a1f0de7da6b57cc900ef5/windowsdesktop-runtime-8.0.5-win-x64.exe.  After installing .NET Desktop Runtime 8, you'll need to restart the AcrGIS Pro 3.3 installer.
  6. Click Next in the ArcGIS Pro Setup window that appears.
  7. In the Welcome to the ArcGIS Pro Setup program window click Next.
  8. Accept the master agreement, then click Next.
  9. In the next window, leave the default option selected and click Next to continue setup.

  10. Leave the default features selected in the Select Features window and click Next.
  11. On the following screen, click Install to begin the installation.

  12. On the ArcGIS Pro has been successfully installed screen below, leave Run ArcGIS Pro now and click Finish to start ArcGIS Pro and continue on to the license process.
    Uncheck Run Now
  13. When the ArcGIS Sign In window appears, click Your ArcGIS organization's URL.
  14. Enter virginiatech in the text box and click Continue.
  15. Click Virginia Tech and then log in with your your VT Username (PID) and passphrase, followed by 2-factor authentication. ArcGIS Pro is now installed, activated, and ready for use.
