Introduction

This article describes:

• If users can be blocked from creating a Microsoft 365 Group or Team and
• If the ability of blocking users from creating a Team translates to also being able to block users from creating a Group by default or vice versa?

Instructions

The intent is to have Groups and Teams be available to everyone in the Virginia Tech community. Therefore, there is no way to specifically block a user from creating a Team. However, a user can be blocked from creating a Group. Being unable to create a Group would indirectly block them from being able to create a Team since Groups are critical components of Teams. In this case, they would receive an error when trying to create a Team.
