All SSL VPN users will be assigned an IPv6 address by the VPN server, based on the connection profile. These IPv6 addresses come from pre-defined pools assigned to respective connection profiles. Pulse Secure VPN supports dual stack.
Static addresses should be used for hosts with associated names. These static addresses should use departmental OUIs. More information on these can be found on the Hostmaster FAQ.
Most operating systems support IPv6 dynamic addressing through SLAAC (Stateless Address Autoconfiguration). This should be used, and works by default on most operating systems. Virginia Tech runs stateless DHCPv6: this only will provide clients with NTP servers and DNS servers; all other information should be obtained from SLAAC.
