Introduction

This article:

• Describes a naming policy to be used by administrators within their Azure Active Directories,
• Explains if certain words can be prohibited in Microsoft 365 Team/Group names, and
• Explains if certain words in Team/Group names can be blocked.

Explanation

Administrators can make a naming policy within their Azure Active Directory that sets certain naming conventions and limitations against Groups (and hence, Teams, which are built upon a Groups foundation).
